Born: To my parents, during the papacy of Pope John Paul I. Raised: Yes I was, in Calgary, Alberta. Religious Beliefs: Don’t let the beard fool you – I am Roman Catholic. (L’Chaim!) Ordained: June 22, 2012 – with 3 other new priests of the Diocese of Calgary. Heroes: (You might think I’d start with Jesus…but God is greater than a hero – God is God). I do not have a fixed list of heroes, but know many people who are (or have been) heroic. For me, heroism comes from striving for the best (which comes from God) in every way. To be heroic is to be willing to sacrifice, willing to smile or reach out, or love deeply. Heroism comes with dedication, perseverance, fidelity, virtue, choosing what is right. To live out and love one’s vocation is heroic. To share wisdom, joy, beauty, ingenuity, to stand up for what is right or someone who needs you, to search for truth, to share the truth is heroic. To remain humble is heroic. Favourite Saint: Just one? Your kidding I hope… Mother Mary, St. Joseph, St. Matthew, St. Anthony of Padua, St. Francis of Assisi, St. Bernard of Clairvaux, St. Edith Stein, St. Joseph of Cupertino, St. Ignatius of Antioch, St. Simeon the Stylite, St. Jean Vianney, St. Damien of Molokai, Sts.
